Travis Haessly is the owner and operator of The Roof Champion, a company created to serve those trying to navigate the insurance claims process.
Born and raised in small town Wisconsin he took to many forms of construction from a young age. His experiences grew from a laborer, to technician, and foreman of several different skilled trades. later, in 2015 he was recruited to professionally powerlift in Columbus, Ohio at a world-renowned gym. Outside of training he continued to pursue multiple forms of home construction and eventually specialized in home exteriors and storm restoration.
Self-taught throughout most of his life he is truly the definition of a ‘self-made’ man. With this mindset there are many goals both personally and professionally that motivate him. These personal motivators helped shape him into the two-time World Powerlifting Champion of the Arnold Classic in 2019 and 2020. After achieving his personal powerlifting aspirations, a shift happened that brought about a new focus to redirect his energy to becoming not only a champion physically, but a champion of the people.
Research, along with a thirst for knowledge led him into most of his successes from personal to professional. This trait was instrumental in his athletic career and has helped evolve him into what could be called a ‘modern day roofer’. With a mix of industry knowledge, private training, field experience, and hard work he has become skilled in storm damage verification, forensic identification, case documentation, material analysis, construction standards, cost estimation, client education, and much more.
Throughout his personal experience working inside the storm restoration industry Travis found that there was a general level of mistrust between consumers, insurance companies, and restoration contractors. It became obvious that this mistrust stemmed from misrepresentation, inexperience, and a lack of integrity. This was the main motivator that empowered him to do things differently and enact change.
To achieve the goal of industry reform Travis has collaborated with many nationwide industry professionals from contractors, public adjusters, appraisers, umpires, attorneys, insurance adjusters, engineers, and other industry experts.
